Madani Fatimi Mawlid
by Hazrat Shaykh Sayyid Al-Sharif Shamsuddin Alhusaini Almadani

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
With gratefulness to Allah Almighty, I begin with praising the Name of my Lord, All-Merciful, All-Gracious, Creator and Lord of all the worlds. I seek His abundant flow of Divine blessings upon us all gathered here.
I pray to my Glorious Lord to send continuous Divine Blessings and Greetings upon His beloved servant and messenger, Sayyiduna Muhammad, and his Ahlul-Bayt, and upon the righteous Companions and Saints of all times.
Further, it is my joy and honour to mention the blessed name of Lady Sayyida Fatima Az-zahra, alaihas-salam, Spring of the noble Ahlul-Bayt, the Perfect and most beloved daughter of the Messenger of Allah, Divine blessings be upon him and his noble Ahlul-Bayt.
Our Lord! Bless her holy grave with fragrance of Divine Salaam
Ya Fatima-tuz-zahraa! Salla Allahu 'alayki
I seek permission from our Lady Sayyida Fatima to begin reciting this Mawlid Sharif of her blessed birth. May Allah accept us all in her holy presence.
She is Fatima, the Radiant, daughter of God's Messenger, Muhammad, son of Abdullah son of Abdul-Muttalib son of Hashim son of Abdu-Manaf son of Qusai son of Kilab son of Murrah, from the progeny of Prophet Ismail, son of Prophet Ibrahim, Blessings be upon them all.
She is Fatima, the Radiant, daughter of Khadija daughter of Khowailid son of Asad son of Abdul-Uzza son of Qusai son of Kilab son of Murrah from the progeny of Prophet Ismail, son of Prophet Ibrahim, Blessings be upon them all.
In His infinite Decree, Allah Almighty protected Fatima's line of ancestry, all the way to the first parents of humankind, from every disgraceful lineage, and kept her honour of lineage to come only from pure and lawful marriages. All her fathers to Adam were chaste and pure, and all her mothers to Eve were chaste and pure.
Our Lord! Bless her holy grave with fragrance of Divine Salaam
Ya Fatima-tuz-zahraa! Salla Allahu 'alayki
From the moment when her blessed mother, Sayyida Khadija, expressed her intention to marry Sayyiduna Muhammad, Blessings be upon him, their marriage was already sealed in Heaven. In Makkah, no one knew that this holy union will be giving great luminaries to the world who will continue until the end of time.
The holy couple, Muhammad and Khadija, first gave a beautiful boy, Al-Qasim, who passed away very young, hence, the holy Messenger is nicknamed as Abul-Qasim. They also gave four blessed girls who lived longer and became virtuous ladies, great models to women of mankind. They also gave one more blessed boy, Abdullah At-tahir, the Pure one, who passed away very young too.
When Sayyida Khadija was blessed to become pregnant with Fatima, amazing things started to happen. Khadija used to talk with the baby inside her blessed womb. Sayyiduna Muhammad used to enter their house and find Khadija talking when there was no one else around. He asked Khadija, "Who are you talking to?" She said, "To the baby girl inside me; she talks to me often and keeps me company".
As the blessed moment of delivery was approaching, the Chiefs of Ouraish were
rebuilding the Holy Kaaba in Makkah. As the chiefs settled on Muhammad to solve their dispute of who should take the honour of placing the blessed Black Stone in its corner in the Holy Kaaba, Sayyida Khadija gave birth to the illustrious Lady Fatima. Our Lady Sayyida Fatima was born into this world on Friday, 20th day of Jumad al-Thani, five years before the revelation of her father's Prophethood. Thus, the whole world has been honoured!

Ya Fatima-tuz-zahraa! Salla Allahu 'alayki
The whole universe has not witnessed such heavenly honour as that of the blessed birth of Lady Fatima and her father, Muhammad, the Messenger of Allah. What a great blessing! What a wonderful gift! The world has been so blessed and privileged! We Muslims have been more privileged by realising her great status and by having love and respect for her, alaihas-salam.
Only four women in the history of mankind reached the high rank of being Perfect Ladies, as revealed by the Messenger of Allah - Maryam, Asiya, Khadija and Fatima. Only two Perfect Ladies in the world are mother and daughter:
Khadija, wife of Muhammad, and Fatima, daughter of Muhammad (Blessings be upon them). Surely, this is the Divinely blessed glory of the House of the Beloved of Allah, Muhammad son of Abdullah.
Our Lord! Bless her holy grave with fragrance of Divine Salaam
Ya Fatima-tuz-zahraa! Salla Allahu 'alayki
Fatima lived a happy childhood in the midst or perfect and illustrious beings. Fatima relished the blessed company of the Perfect parents, Muhammad and Khadija, her noble sisters and her chosen cousin Ali. Fatima was greatly loved and she loved them all. It was a pure family life of respect and good manners. This Household was the elite selection of Heaven.
Fatima was five years old when her father, Sayyiduna Muhammad, received the first Divine Revelation; hence, he was announced to the world as the last Messenger of God. He returned home from the Mountain of Light and said, Allah has commanded me to preach the Message of Oneness of God.
Khadija, and all who were living with Muhammad immediately accepted his Message. In this sacred house lived the Messenger's young cousin, Ali ibn Abi Talib, the adopted son, Zaid ibn Haritha and the four blessed Muhammadi girls. A House of Lights! A House of God's Attention! Ya Allah, Bless them all with the highest of stations in Your Divine Presence.
Our Lord! Bless her holy grave with fragrance of Divine Salaam
Ya Fatima-tuz-zahraa! Salla Allahu 'alayki
Not long after, Fatima's youth turned to another direction. She started to live the pains and anguish of the holy Messenger, Blessings be upon him, as he preached the Oneness of God in Makkah and the nearby towns and tribes. Young Fatima followed her father like his shadow, serving him and learning from his sacred company.
When she was thirteen years of age, Fatima went through three years of extreme adversity. From the month of Muharram in the 7th year after Revelation, Fatima and all her family members, along with members of their Bani Hashim clan, were forced to leave their homes and to suffer a total embargo in a narrow valley called shi'b Abi Talib near Holy Makkah.
Like the rest of her blessed family, Fatima hardly had anything to eat or drink for three years. They lived on leaves of thorny bushes and whatever could be smuggled into the Valley. Their blessed lips were dry and cracked. The blazing sun and hot winds disintegrated their holy skins. From this tender age, Fatima knew the pains of extreme hunger, hardships and deprivation from basic livelihood. But Fatima stood strong, displaying an immense level of sacrifice and reverence for her blessed parents.
O young Fatima! What kind of hurt befell you at a tender age in those hard years! Will we ever understand?!
Our Lord! Bless her holy grave with fragrance of Divine Salaam
Ya Fatima-tuz-zahraa! Salla Allahu 'alayki
Once they were released from that long ban, in the 10th year after Revelation, some of her dear ones could not survive long. In Rajab of the same year, her father's uncle, Hazrat Abu Talib, died, and a few days later, her mother, Sayyida Khadija, passed away, leaving the sixteen-year-old Fatima in further extreme grief and sorrow.
With all the agony and hardship that she was suffering, young Fatima did not yield to her griefs. Fatima keenly took over more chores and responsibilities in the blessed Muhammadi House, and increased her ceaseless support for her father, the Messenger of Allah, Blessings be upon them all. Now, Fatima's heavenly character and charisma started to show more and more. Her attachment to the holy Messenger surpassed the relationship of daughter and father.
The holy Messenger, Blessings be upon him, knew how painful it was for Fatima to go through all of that, so he advised his other daughters to keep a close eye on Fatima and take extra care of her. But Fatima was developing into another reality that was sublime and glorious. At this tender age of sixteen, the heart of Fatima became illumined with Divine Lights that manifested she was the female copy of the Messenger of Allah.
Fatima found no solace except in the company of her father, the Messenger of Allah. She increased her worship of Allah, with extra optional prayers, fasting, and frequent night supplications.
The diamond in Fatima started to shine louder and brighter, and everyone around her saw this Holy glow, hence she became known Az-zahra.
Our Lord! Bless her holy grave with fragrance of Divine Salaam
Ya Fatima-tuz-zahraa! Salla Allahu 'alayki
Allah Almighty had already made His Divine decree. Allah chose Fatima, the seal of Muhammadi beauty and glory, to be the plentiful Spring (Kawthar) to spread Muhammadi Lights through her blessed progeny. Allah Almighty revealed holy revelations to Prophet Muhammad, Blessing be upon him, "We have given you the Kawthar; thus, offer thanksgiving prayers and animal sacrifice to your Lord".
The angels used to see the room of Fatima as we see the brightest star in the dark sky. Her prayer niche would shine on earth and in heaven with intense light like the sun. The Messenger of Allah used to stand up for her and walk to her.
The Imam of Islam, her husband Ali ibn Abi Talib, used to marvel at her perfect character and beautiful face; he used to thank God for this best blessing he ever had.
Twenty-eight years was the whole life of Fatima Az-zahra in this world, but her saintly legacy has been most magnificent and glorious!
Her holy heavenly stations are still not completely fathomed nor inherited by the saints of God. Fatima Az-zahra passed away in Holy Madinah from immense grief and longing for her father the Messenger of Allah. What a blessed Lady!
O Sayyida Fatima! How can we comprehend you without help from you! We beg you to give us a glimpse of your holy attention from your glorious existence. Give us your nearness! Give us your love!
Our Lord! Bless her holy grave with fragrance of Divine Salaam
Our Lady Fatima! Allah bless you eternally
